It appears that Quarterback Jalen Hurts has proven himself to be a long term franchise quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. By signing Hurts to a five-255 million dollar contract extension with 179.3 million guaranteed they are clearly stating this. The deal also includes a no trade clause, which means if Jalen Hurts were to be traded he could reject that deal if he were to choose. This is the second most guaranteed money given in an NFL contract  behind Deshaun Watsons infamous fully guaranteed deal.

Most of the feedback from this report are players, analyst, and reporters stating that Hurts is worth every penny of his contract extension. Hurts was drafted 53rd overall in the 2020 NFL draft. This pick was a head scratcher for many in the organization and outsiders who thought the Eagles quarterback position was established with Carson Wentz at the helm. Time went on then late in the season Jalen Hurts was presented an opportunity to show the league what he had at the position. Great leadership, rushing skills, and just pure innate ability shown in the final quarter of the season propelled Jalen hurts to earn the starting position heading into the 2021 season.
